Best Game I Played 2020

Not really a GOTY list. This is not a list of the best game released this year, but rather the best games I played. I usually play games that are a couple of years old, because I’ve picked them up on a sale.

I usually pick 3 games, because I don’t believe a top 10 of the 18 games I played this year to be very useful. Better to make a small selection instead. So here goes.

Third best game I played 2020: Control

I love everything about this game. I love the main character, I love the setting, I love the action and I love the X-Files vibes that I get from it. I often come back to think about this game, even if I don’t think it would be the same to replay it.

This is a must play.

Second best game I played 2020: X-morph Defense

This game was so unexpected. I’ve heard that it might be good, but I didn’t expect to play it, and then immediately have to replay it on the hardest difficulty and fetch all the trophies and then keep playing it in couch coop. Yes, this game is highly addictive and even though I have completed everything that is possible to complete, I just bought it again for Nintendo Switch so I can play it whenever I want to.

The Best Game I Played 2020: Hades

This is a new game. It was actually released September this year. When I heard about it on Twitter I just had to try it out and boy. This is an incredible game. I love everything about it, from the witty conversations, the portraits of each of the gods, the visuals, the game play, the bosses.

I did finish this game 30 December 2020, but have not been able to stop playing it. Even though I have completed the story, the game keeps on giving and this is most likely a game I will keep playing far into 2021.
