My Friend Peppa Pig

My kids have gotten into the age when it’s important to be cool, so I’ve been teasing them about Peppa Pig. It’s all fun. They have turned it around with “as you bring up Peppa Pig so much, maybe it’s you that is all into it?”. So they downloaded My Friend Peppa Pig to my PlayStation account for me. Touchè!

Well, I’m not the one to be so easily deterred, so I played it and platinumed it, and now I’m writing about it.

You can make your own Peppa Pig character. This is probably the best part of the game, but your character must be named “Peppa’s Friend”

It wasn’t too bad. It is a 90 minute game where you play as Peppa’s friend and you go about and do Peppa things. Go to her daycare, visit grandparents, go to the beach and so on. It was mostly like watching the cartoon but you control where to go.

The gameplay mechanics is very simple as it should work well for a small child. You can move left or right and press X when you want to interact with something. Mostly like a grown ass walking simulator when I come to think of it.

Going about and doing Peppa things, like having a picnic in the forest, without getting interrupted by flesh eating zombies.

There are some aspects that I didn’t like. You could very easily start a side path that you already had been through, like going to the beach, and have to do it again. There is no way of backing out. There is also no way of fast forwarding the dialogue or cut scenes. So when you make the mistake of going to the beach the third time it becomes quite tedious. Also for a child I think when it doesn’t want to play that part again, and as a grown up you can’t help the child to get back to Peppa’s house without actually playing the whole beach segment once again.

For Peppa enthusiasts I think it has it all. A bit short experience for $40 but I got my copy from PlayStation Plus.

I rate this game as OKAY.

Rating: 2 out of 5.
