This is the sequel to the excellent arcade racing game Horizon Chase Turbo. If that game reminded me of Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge for Amiga, this game is definitely Lotus Turbo Challenge 2. I loved the previous game. It is the best arcade racer I’ve played in recent years, and I still play it from time to time.
This sequel is better in every regard. The graphics in this one is chefs kiss. The music was iconic in the predecessor but I think it’s even better in the sequel. The controls are great and the levels are much better designed.
They have removed the fuel mechanic in the sequel, which I think is a great improvement. It is much more fun nailing the pedal to the floor without worrying about gas. They’ve introduced a new game play mode where you hit boxes over a course. I don’t care much for that one, but it’s okay because it is optional.
The game is not very long, it’s not very hard. It is just a ton of fun from beginning to end.
