Little Nightmares 2

This game is a real pearl. I enjoyed the previous game. I thought it was good, but I dare say this is even better.

You are a boy named Mono, running from left to right, but you really don’t yet know why. In this the game have a lot similarities with INSIDE but instead of being 2.5D this is full 3D where you run in and out of the picture.

The game starts in the woods, go left or right?

The game however often take on a 2D perspective where you run from left to right, especially in chase sequences.

The game has no written or spoken narrative, instead the story is told in the environments you visit. I would say the story is on the weak side, but the environments are top notch.

This game is so creepy. It never really uses classical scare tactics like jump scares or gore. Instead it plays psychological games with your expectations in a very clever way.

At a point in time you meet a familiar friend.

The game is extremely good looking, both the art direction and the graphics. The sound design and music is also perfect for the game creating a really thick atmosphere.

What I didn’t like about the game was the fight scenes and the chase scenes. The game doesn’t control well enough for the fight scenes making them frustrating, and the chase scenes had too small margins. Thankfully these scenes are scarce.

I rate this game as GREAT.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
