I have not been feeling it.
Since new years I’ve been mostly working each evening instead of playing games. And when I played it has just been to complete a few more challenges on Hades. However when Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle was on sale for Nintendo Switch, I found it a low enough bar to start playing again.
This is a tactical turn-based shooter RPG, very much like XCOM, but more cute.

The game takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom that has been mixed up with Rabbids, who have been taking over. You must fight them to reclaim the kingdom. Yeah, the story is crap, but the characters and the dialogue are quite funny.
What I like about the tactical gameplay is that you get all the information needed at any time. There are no hidden spots on the map where you can’t see. If it’s 100% chance to hit you will not miss. You know exactly at every move how long you can reach, how long the enemy can reach you, what kind of damage you will deal. I like all of these things. They have removed the frustrating parts from XCOM.

What I don’t like about the tactical game play, is that each character is able to do so many things each turn. Sure it makes the game progress faster, but it makes it hopeless to foresee the turn of events. If you’re clever you will be able to guess what the next move will be of your enemies, but you will not be able to plan 3-4 turns ahead, which is a shame.
I liked the game. It is easy to play and very low entry bar. It is not too long, and the bosses are all reasonable. The puzzles between the fights felt like fillers but they were ok. The chests containing music soundtrack and artwork were a bit tedious as I don’t care for those parts, but you had to hunt them down in order not to miss any weapons.
My rating of this game is: GOOD
